Sunday, January 31

We had breakfast (tipico) then left hotel and went to Espresso Americano one last time. These kids kept coming up to us to buy stuff, like peanuts or popcorn or something. They had old, dirty clothes on, no shoes and were just wanting me to buy this stuff. I wasn’t hungry because I already had stuff from the coffee shop, but it just really got to me. Like here I am eating pastel and coffee and I won’t/can’t/don’t buy popcorn or peanuts from these kids. Theyy break my heart, but I don’t know when to say yes and when to say no. I mean I could buy all the peanuts they had and their lives still wouldn’t be better because they would be out doing again the next day. I almost lost my appetite for my coffee and stuff by contemplating about their situation. After that, we left around 11 and then got to Gracias and got some lunch to go. We had a horrible time trying to find a taxi to take us up the mountain. We called all our neighbors and other drivers we knew and they were either busy, couldn’t, or didn’t answer their phones. As we were walking toward the road to Villa Verde, we kept stopping empty motos to bring us up (not many will go up to Villa Verde). We finally found one and headed back up the mountain. We just unpacked, relaxed, graded/planned, and talked the rest of the evening after our fun weekend.
